Important legal and privacy information
Scope and operator
This policy applies to Taiwan Disaster Guide, an independently operated unofficial site and not a government service. The operator is identified as the individual operator of Taiwan Disaster Guide, and the Google Form is the contact and rights-request channel. The individual operator does not ordinarily publish a legal name or home address, but will use an appropriate lawful process where disclosure is legally required. Effective 6 September 2026; last updated 2026-10-04.
Information handled
The service handles connection data needed to deliver pages; the county or city in a URL; checklist status stored only on the device; public disaster data; and suggestions or corrections entered in the Google Form subject and message fields.
Purposes
Information is used only to deliver pages, show local information, link to official sources, detect failures, attacks and abuse, secure the service, review submissions and comply with law. Personal information is not sold or used for unrelated purposes.
Device storage and cookies
Checklist status remains in localStorage for up to 180 days and is not sent to the server. The current site does not use login, geolocation, advertising or analytics cookies, advertising identifiers or external fonts.
Cloudflare delivery
The public site is intended to use Cloudflare Pages, CDN and security services. Cloudflare may process IP address, time, URL, device and browser data for delivery, attack prevention and incident diagnosis, including outside the user's country. Enabled services, retention, locations and safeguards must be confirmed before launch.
Google Forms
The external form asks only for a subject and message; it does not ask for name, email, age or gender and does not require sign-in. Google content is not loaded until the link is opened. Google and the operator may then process the response, submission time and connection data. Do not submit personal, health, precise-location or other sensitive information.
Contact retention
Responses are used for improvements, corrections and abuse handling, with access restricted to the operator. They are normally deleted about 180 days after review, unless needed longer for rights, abuse, disputes or law. Individual replies are generally not provided.
Aggregate counts
Daily totals may be kept for page views, official-link use, shares and checklist starts. They are not linked to cookies, user IDs, submitted content, IP addresses or selected areas and are not used to track a person or device.
Providers and international processing
Cloudflare and Google process information as needed to provide their services. Destination policies apply after opening external links. User information is not disclosed for unrelated purposes except where law or protection of life or health requires it. Applicable notice, contracts, safeguards or consent will be used.
Security and incidents
Controls include HTTPS, environment-variable secret management, access restriction, input validation, security headers, dependency checks and backups. Confirmed loss, alteration or disclosure will be contained, investigated and remediated, with legally required notices.
User rights
Where applicable, users may request notice, access, a copy, correction, deletion, restriction or cessation, an end to sharing, or consent withdrawal. Use the Google Form subject “Privacy request” and describe the relevant submission, approximate time and requested action. Device-only data can be deleted immediately. Because the form does not collect a name or email address, identity verification or an individual reply may not be possible; action will be taken where the request can reasonably be verified.
Before AdSense
The current site does not load ads. Before activation, the policy will identify Google and ad partners, cookies, data, purposes, retention, international processing and opt-outs. Where required, a certified CMP will load before ads and provide accept, reject, settings and withdrawal controls. Ads remain disabled until tested.
Changes
Material changes will be announced before they take effect and renewed consent obtained where required. Revision history will be maintained.
